Ítem Transformaciones en la identidad que se derivan del tránsito por el personaje de las drag queens del Parque Lleras y Provenza - Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Botero Calderón, María; Loaiza Muñoz, Susana; Zuluaga Aristizábal, Marda UcarisNowadays it is possible to approach the phenomenon of gender identity beyond the binary barriers that society had imposed as something absolute. Visible proof of this is the emergence of Drag Queens as a representation of rebellion against the heteronormative rules that dictated what was socially accepted as feminine or masculine qualities adjacent to the sex of birth. In theory, Drag Queens represent a transgression to gender and can be socially seen as agents of change, but the present study delves deeper into these perceptions coming from the same Drag Queens who perform or gather in El Parque Lleras and Provenza in Medellín. It analyzes their subjectivity and, more specifically, how they perceive their own global and gender identity both outside and inside the character, trying to determine whether they themselves perpetuate both in their spech and in their actions the heteronormative categories that still predominate in society.
