    This degree work arises from the need of the project area of a company providing information and communications technology (ICT) services in Colombia, which not only wants to execute their projects under the PMBOK v6 guide, as they do nowadays, but also under the guidance of SBOK v3. Therefore, the result of the execution of this degree work consists of generating a selection tool that makes the suggestion of which of these two previous guides should be used for each of the company's projects, depending on the characteristics of the project and looking to maximize the value delivered during the life cycle of the project. The selection tool will be tailored to the company on which the degree work is developed, so if it is desired to use it for another type of company, it will be necessary to make adjustments on the selection tool.

    Learning from practical experience provides new knowledge and tools for the company or institutions. This knowledge is crystalized during this process and then documented into ‘lessons learned’ to create a reference guide and tool. The objective of this research is ultimately to identify the lessons learned during the execution of the Plan Nacional Colegio 10-TIC. The data and results of this research are presented following the PMBOK Strategic Management Guidelines (PMI 2017) methodology. This research methodology is characterized by using of five processes groups and ten knowledge areas, which are harnessed to capture and consolidate information. The subsequent analysis of the data is performed via a matrix, and the output is seventeen case studies, or lessons learned. These 17 lessons learned form the basis of a reference guide that ultimately can be used to study and audit the design and development of educational innovation projects at the Innovation Direction of EAFIT University.
