Ítem Compensación ejecutiva y desempeño de la firma: Un análisis para el mercado norteamericano(2018) González López, Ximena; Téllez Falla, Diego FernandoThe every-day decisions made by executives reflect the actions to reach short and long-term objectives for shareholders -- To understand decisions using numbers generates results that allow us to analyze the relationship between the executives’ compensation and the financial performance of a company -- In this dissertation, an analysis for 30 firms in six North American industry sectors is carried out, where is considered the existing relationship between the executive compensation and the performance that these companies had between 2010 and 2016 -- In the development of this research goes over the origin of the compensation, the agency theory, and the blend between the fixed and variable remuneration -- The latter take relevance on the analysis of data that carries out the link of the companies’ performance -- The importance of this analysis lies on the need to find evidence about the relationship between the principal (investors), the agent (executives), and the behavior, by business sector, according to the American classification
