Ítem Propuesta de estructuración de PMO para ION HEAT SAS y de incorporación a su estructura organizacional(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Sossa Gutiérrez, Steven; Diez Benjumea, Jhon MiguelION HEAT is a colombian company of advanced engineering solutions, which was created in 2012 as a spin-off of one of the most important commercial heat treaters in the country named TRATAMIENTOS TERMICOS SAS (TRATAR, which has over 35 years of experience in the market), and designs, manufactures and commercializes internationally high tech heat treatment systems, mostly used in aerospace and automotive industries, called plasma nitriding furnaces. By the year 2016, ION HEAT experiences an exponential growth in sales, and must increase its installed capacity very fast to be able to support this (200m2 to 2.000m2 in space, from 14 to 60 employees, CAPEX over USD 1 million, all in 4 months). Such growth (around 50% in sales annualy) has caused that staff's capacity and competence for managing organizational projects is not enough and project results begin to be affected as to the compliance of schedule, budget, objectives, scope and strategic alignment. The growth forecast of amount of projects and sales per year, in constrast to the low throughput of projects since the exponencial growth started, shows the inminent need for the creation of a PMO as a control organism with the objective of increasing the success rate of the organizational projects and guarantee their strategic alignment. Therefore, this thesis seeks to design and propose a PMO which fits the needs of a medium sized engineering company with high growth potential. In order to achieve this, the project maturity level is assesed by selecting and appliyng the most adecuated maturity model; then, the most convenient PMO type is selected by the criteria defined in the methodology, and after that the ideal PMO for ION HEAT is designed, including all formats and procedures; and finally, a proposal is made for integrating the designed PMO to the company's organizational structure.
