Ítem Desarrollo de un adhesivo tipo hot melt para etiquetas utilizadas en empaques de productos refrigerados y congelados(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Ramírez Higuita, María Eugenia; Echeverri Cartagena, Carlos MarioSelf-adhesive labels are the first meeting between the product and the consumer, its design and quality are determining factors in the purchase decision, one of the main components of these are the adhesives; since depending on its characteristics the final use of the labels is defined; a self-adhesive label made with an adhesive that has a high glass transition temperature will not perform well on refrigerated or frozen product packaging. The objective of this research is to develop a hot melt type adhesive to be used in labels of refrigerated and frozen products. A market investigation was carried out that allowed the identification of the main qualitative and quantitative properties and different characteristics that the adhesive should have, the materials were selected, the proposed formulations were manufactured and characterized by FINAT standards on different substrates, qualitative tests at different temperatures. (5°C, -10°C and -20°C) and rheology where the glass transition temperature of the adhesives was identified. Finally, an adhesive with good performance at low temperatures, good initial adhesion, and a glass transition temperature of -19°C was obtained.
