    This paper analyzes the participation of young people from the Comunas 13 and 14 of Medellín in the process of education for peace from the critical approach of the local turn in peacebuilding Likewise, it provides empirical evidence about the role of the youth in this process. The analysis is part of national and international academic literature on citizen participation and education for peace, which seeks to make young people visible as actors for the transformation of their territory. The research question was: How has been the participation of young people from Comunas 13 and 14 of Medellín in the process of education for peace between 2016 and 2019? To answer this question, a case study was carried out with virtual interviews, given the contingency of COVID-19, and documental analysis. In it, concepts such as dialogue, cooperation, diversity, transformation and territory were evident. At the end, it was possible to understand the need to create spaces for young people to be recognized as participants in the peacebuilding of their city by the consolidation of their capacities in the decision-making processes.
