Ítem Determinants of female entrepreneurship in Spain: an institutional approach(Springer New York LLC, 2015-12-01) Noguera, M.; Alvarez, C.; Merigó, J.M.; Urbano, D.The purpose of this paper is to analyse the factors that influence female entrepreneurship in Spain, using institutional economics as the theoretical framework. The empirical research uses Spanish regional-level panel data (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and National Statistics Institute of Spain) covering the period 2003-2010. The main findings indicate that informal factors (recognition of entrepreneurial career and female networks) are more relevant for female entrepreneurship than formal factors (education, family context and differential of income level). The research contributes both theoretically (advancing knowledge with respect to environmental factors that affect female entrepreneurship), and practically (for the design of support policies and educational programmes to foster female entrepreneurial activity).Ítem An Initial Review of the Characteristics and Determinants of Female Entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico(Universidad EAFIT, 31/10/2013) Marisela Santiago Castro; Michael J Pisani; Universidad de Puerto Rico; Central Michagan UniversityÍtem Leadership Styles and Innovative Entrepreneurship: An International Study(Taylor and Francis Inc., 2015-05-19) Van Hemmen, S.; Alvarez, C.; Peris-Ortiz, M.; Urbano, D.This research attempts to empirically examine the relationship between leadership styles and innovative entrepreneurship through regression analysis, using a sample of 43 countries and data from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness. In light of institutional approaches and specifically based on the normative dimension, the main findings of the study indicate that participative leadership and higher education represent the strongest explanatory factor in the variance of the current rates of innovative entrepreneurship. This study has contributions for both researchers and policymakers on new firm creation (entrepreneurship) and on the generation of innovation within organizations (intrapreneurship).Ítem The role of institutional dimensions on entrepreneurial activity : stages and types of entrepreneurship in developing and developed countries(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) López Orozco, Tatiana; Urbano Pulido, David; Álvarez Barrera, Claudia
