Ítem La écfrasis como posibilidad de creación e interpretación en Tríptico de la infamia de Pablo Montoya(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Montoya Isaza, Natalia Andrea; Vélez López, Germán DaríoTríptico de la infamia is a novel that abounds in historical richness written by Pablo Montoya and published in 2014 -- It’s main topic are the religious wars of the sixteenth century, with the colonization of the American lands -- All of this is shown through the eyes of three artists, eyewitnesses, who express in their work a testimony of what happened, both in the Old and the New World -- In order to bring together in the story the two arts, painting and literature, the author uses a literary figure called Ekphrasis or ecphrasis, which allows him to approach the images from the description, and to use them at the same time as a pretext for narrative creation, in that way it gives the reader an interpretation seen by Montoya about the process of colonization and the influence of religion in it -- The following article aims to show that with the use of this literary resource, Pablo Montoya expects to make a defense of the native as a victim, and a reaffirmation of the Black Legend around what happened with the arrival of Europeans in America
