Being an entrepreneur is having the ability to create something new or to give a different use to an existing element, as well as generating an impact on the lives of the comunity in which it inhabits (Formichella, 2004). He is suffi ciently fl exible to adapt ideas and has the creativity to turn every event into an opportunity. It can be said that a manager can and must be an entrepreneur but not necessarily an entrepreneur has to be a manager (Gartner, 1989).In Medellín, entrepreneurship programs have been developed over the past 5 years in order to generate employment and create an entrepreneurial culture. This paper shows that in order to develop these programs, an understanding of the entrepreneurship dimensions (the individual, the environment and the processes), and how these interact with each other is required. This documentation was done through the methodology of the Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo and through the analysis of the results of semi-structured interviews and secondary information, eleven lessons learned were finally obtained, through which actors and situations of repeated occurrence were identified and with different levels of impact, which finally affect the fulfillment of the objectives set by the entrepreneurs and which lead to the decision not to forgive the resources assigned by the fund. The documentation of these lessons learned invites the organization to generate documentation strategies of its management and its results, since it allows it not only to have precise information on its previous performance, but at the same time it is possible to generate strategies that guarantee the reduction of non-condoned projects and, therefore, the best application of the financial resources allocated to entrepreneurship and the economic strengthening of the region.
