    Colombia is currently in need to generate productive projects in rural areas --Agribusiness options that are affordable and profitable for low-income rural families are indispensable to overcome the traditional legal and ilegal crops that fill out the productive land -- Throughout 2017, a pilot project was deployed in La Palma (Cundinamarca) to establish a plantation of castor oil seed aimed at bringing dynamism to the region (hardly hit by the violent conflict) -- According to its empirical results, castor oil seed is a profitable and easy to establish crop for smallholders without particularly high access to physical capital other than land -- The aim of this analysis is to determine the estimated impact of growing castor oil seed in the lands distributed by the land reform program underway by the National Government of Colombia. Such impact will be measured on the convergence to the steady state of economic growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the agriculture production of the country
