Estudio de prefactibilidad de un sistema de riego para la instalación en la agrícola Mariu tropical
(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Giraldo Vargas, Camilo; Gómez Salazar, Elkin Arcesio
The Mariu Tropical company develops its economic activity in the production and commercialization of plantain in San Juan de Urabá. Initially its product is destined for export and what is left over, to the local market. For the cultivation of this product, a tropical climate is required; that is, warm, but humid at the same time. In periods when it does not rain, the shortage of water causes a decrease in production, leaving part of the demand unmet. This work aims to carry out a feasibility study to determine the financial viability of the irrigation system, a technology that will make the supply of water for banana production more efficient and systematic. The results of the financial indicators suggest that it is possible to carry out the project in that, in a horizon of ten years, the income can exceed the costs and investment in the irrigation system.

Estudio de viabilidad de una empresa de energía solar en Colombia
(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Romero Escobar, Luis Felipe; Escalante Gómez, Juan Esteban
The main goal of the present work was to develop a feasibility study for a solar energy company in Colombia using Onudi methodology, in order to assess its relevance at the investment level. The type of research chosen for developing this work, due to its scope and how the information was treated, is descriptive and mixed, respectively, since it contains quantitative research of an economic and financial nature, and qualitative research to describe and interpret the demand and supply of the market business, customer segmentation and the profiles of the distinct positions that the company needs The main finding of this research is that the profitability of the project has been significantly affected by the current economic situation at national and international level due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. This is because most of the equipment for a solar energy project must be imported, and the devaluation of the Colombian peso against the dollar has carried to the costs of raw materials and maritime transport had considerably increased during the last two years. Finally, the result of this work provided enough reliable information for the partners to decide to continue with the next stage of the project, the execution, and invest the resources that the company requires.
