    The binary conception of contractual regimes in Colombia —understood as the application of the private regime by some state entities and the General Statute of Public Administration Contracting (Law 80 of 1993) by others has generated practical difficulties in its implementation, due to the state nature of the entities that apply the private regime, since it does not regulate all the obligations or duties that state entities must meet or its application could be incompatible with the public purposes pursued with state contracting. One of these institutions corresponds to the economic balance of the contract, which is one of the problems widely discussed in court and, therefore, of great illustrative relevance to demonstrate the complexity of the duality of contractual regimes in Colombia. Given these difficulties, it is important to identify how the economic balance of services is restored in contracts concluded by entities with an excepted regime
