    The present article studies the way in which the novel, En diciembre llegaban las brisas, by Marvel Moreno, presents the configuration of female subjectivity as a struggle between heteronomy and autonomy, in which the school apparatus assumes a fundamental role in the adaptation of women to patriarchal society, while in some cases the family provides an alternative value scheme enabling forms of resistance to the status quo. Beyond the literary, this reflection is based on a concern about the role of educational institutions in society and hopes to contribute in some way to that debate.
