The principles of Corporate Governance point out how companies should be managed in order to align their interests with their shareholders and stakeholders -- The good practices of the sector suggest not only to review, but also to implement control mechanisms for the different organs that manage the operation -- Given the new company business model of Grupo Exito as a Multilatina, we conducted a detailed analysis of the chapter of Board of Directors within the framework of the Código País in relation to Corporate Governance for Grupo Exito and four comparable companies in Colombia -- The analysis was based on the different reports for the year 2016 in relation to the Code of Corporate Governance for each company -- As a result we found that Grupo Exito complies with most of the proposed measures for the Board of Directors, and has implemented policies and procedures to accomplish good Corporate Governance practices
