Ítem Evaluación de la percepción de los actores de la cuádruple hélice sobre la relevancia del marco institucional en el funcionamiento de un Sistema de Innovación Regional (SRI) a partir de un análisis de redes.(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Durán Hernández, Juan David; Ortega Álvarez, Ana María; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaOne of the competitive advantages of companies and nations is achieved through the processes of innovation and the results that materialize in products and services (Porter, 1990) -- The Oslo Manual (OECD, 2005) defines innovation as “The improvements of a product, process, marketing or an organization, through the generation and implementation of significant and / or radical changes” -- Likewise, innovation is a process carried out jointly by various actors from different disciplines, who generate knowledge by exchanging their ideas and experiences (Asheim and Coenen, 2005) -- Taking into account the above statements, we recognize the need to study innovation processes as systems, in which there are multiple actors that interact with each other, recognizing in the literature sectorial, technological, national and regional innovation systems (Asheim, Smith and Oughton, 2011) -- This work focuses on regional innovation systems (RIS) analyzing the interaction of the actors of the quadruple helix: civil society, State, Academia and industry (Cavallini, Friedl, Soldi and Volpe, 2016) -- The interaction between the different actors of the RIS that was studied will be analyzed from the neo-institutional perspective defined by North (1989), which establishes the need for formal and informal institutions to determine the terms of interaction between the actors, with the objective of increasing economic development by reducing uncertainty and increasing trust among the actors participating in the exchange -- In Colombia, it has been defined that one of the axes for economic development is innovation (MinTIC, 2014), and there is currently a regional innovation system (RIS) developed in the Aburrá valley (Ruta N, 2016) -- By studying the perception of RIS actors in this region about the importance of formal and informal institutions for the success of the innovation system, policy developers in the country can be supported to focus resources on success of the system and the economic development of the region -- This work uses the information of surveys taken during the development of the research The role of institutions in a regional innovation system and their impact on the innovation
