For this reason, their subsistence in time is essential. This writing seeks to analyze Family Companies in terms of their composition and structure, their main characteristics and their operation. It seeks to identify the main conflicts that arise between corporate and family bodies, within Family Companies and the main mechanisms to prevent and resolve such conflicts. With this analysis, this writing intendeds to expose the great importance that Family Companies have in the Colombian economy, since a large part of it depends on them. Their subsistence is absolutely necessary for the progress and economic growth of the country.Ítem Mecanismos para proteger una empresa familiar ante el cambio generacional : caso CLORSA Ltda.(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Pajón Julio, Santiago; González Salazar, Natalia; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaIn this document was studied the case of Clorsa Ltda., a family business that is in process of succession. The mechanisms and tools that are implemented were objectively and subjectively analyzed, and in the literature was investigated about which ones can be used in the long term to protect it from generational changes and other intrinsic problems of this type of organization. Shortcomings such as nepotism and other vices were found that can lead to undesired results. Finally, there were made suggestions about the possible measures to be implemented to increase the chances of survival and some tools to verify their effectiveness. The mechanisms found are presented only as a suggestion, since it was found that there is no one effective way to guarantee the longevity of the company and implementing them is at the discretion of the organization.
