Ítem Educación emocional para niñas en educación básica de Medellín : estudio de viabilidad(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Farine Builes, Laura; Lemos, MariantoniaPurpose: Identify the viability of an Emotional Education program in the levels of Stress and Emotional Regulation in elementary school girls in Medellín. Method: Mixed study with pre-experimental design with pre and post intervention measures. The sample was composed of 24 girls with an average age of 7.96 years (D.T. = 0.204) from a private school in Medellín who received an intervention of 8 sessions on emotional regulation. The participants completed the Children’s Daily Stress Inventory (IECI), The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire(SDQ) and the Child Emotional Regulation Questionnaire Results. A significant increase in the emotional regulation of girls was found, t (17) = - 4,733, p <0.001. Regarding stressors, the IECI results showed no significant changes, p> 0.05. Regarding the perception of the parents (SDQ scale), no significant results were found in the evaluated dimensions. However, a tendency to decrease in emotional symptoms was observed Conclusions : A significant change in emotional regulation was found, evidencing a decrease in emotional symptoms, as well as a decrease in family and school stressors scales. Also, the girls showed greater emotional awareness, being able to identify their emotions and regulate them assertively.
