To design and validate a psychometric instrument for the detection of the level of some unemployment psychosocial effects. Conceptual reference. Unemployment generates psychosocial effects on an individual; in a cognitive level: bradipsiquia and difficulty in decision making; Emotional: feeling of embarrassment, depression, anxiety and at times a major depression, Behavioral: social isolation, lack of appetite, sexual inhibition and suicidal thoughts. Method. Quantitative studies, cross study application of the classical test theory (CTT) with 1.406 participants that were unemployed between the ages of 18 and 65, scholars from Bogotá. Results. The Castiblanco Scale was obtained with a 2.7% margin of error and a .91 level of reliability; the validity of the content equals 83% and median constructor AFE and AFC have admissible results. Implications. It becomes the first detection tool to some of the psychosocial effects associated with unemployment. The purpose is to help reduce the deterioration and take contingencies to mitigate the effects on the participants.
