    The present study examines the relationship between exports and economic growth for the department of Antioquia, Colombia. To this end, annual series were used for the period 1990-2016 -- Then, the study estimated a VAR which served to evaluate causality in Granger’s way -- Impulse response were reported -- Although the results obtained did not show a relationship between exports and growth, they found a existing relationship between imports and growth -- Some studies show that exports allow the acquisition of foreign exchange which are necessary to import goods and services
