    The purpose of this degree work is the financial structuring of a private-equity fund as an investment strategy for the production of Hass avocado in Colombia. Private-equity funds are medium and long-term collective investment vehicles, managed by a professional team of managers, to develop, administer and manage a product especially focused on investors with a high-risk profile, who can tolerate strong fluctuations in their portfolio associated with the operation of the fund. Its main objective is to generate an economic return through the financing of companies or productive projects that are not listed on a stock exchange and that have a great potential for appreciation. (Colombia, Unidad de Regulación Financiera, URF, 2018) The comparative advantage offered by the Colombian countryside becomes an opportunity for the development of competitive projects through a private-equity fund that seeks a sustainable investment in the agricultural sector for the production of a fruit with a high growth potential such as the Hass avocado. (Fondo para el Financiamiento del Sector Agropecuario, Finagro, 2018). This fund will be able to take advantage of natural, economic and human resources in order to create value for investors and generate socioeconomic development in the regions of influence.
