In view of the increasing importance that risk management has reached for organizations worldwide and, specifically, in Colombia, in relation to risk governance and its components, this article aims to show whether strategic risk management and risk leadership increase the development of risk management. For this, a multivariate linear regression analysis is performed with a secondary database of 149 surveys conducted to Colombian private companies. The results show a positive and significant relationship of both components with respect to the development of risk management.
