Estudio de prefactibilidad para la construcción de una escuela agroecológica en el municipio de La Unión, departamento de Antioquia
(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Díaz Alape, Cristian Fernando; Díez Benjumea, Jhon Miguel
This work presents a prefeasibility study for the creation of an Agroecological School in the municipality of La Unión, Antioquia, with the purpose of strengthening environmental education, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and contributing to rural development. Through a comprehensive analysis that includes market, technical, financial, administrative, legal, and environmental studies, the viability of establishing an educational institution aimed at training vocational technicians in agroecology and offering complementary training courses is demonstrated. Different segments of potential clients were identified, such as: the producer client, the technical client, and the institutional client, whom it is expected to impact through accessible programs, with a practical approach and aligned with sustainable development goals, almost like the Departmental and Municipal approach. The methodology used is based on the Logical Framework approach and UNIDO, integrating social, economic, and ecological criteria to ensure the sustainability of the project. The analysis concludes that the initiative has the potential to positively influence the transformation of local production systems, the conservation of the environment, and the strengthening of the social fabric of the territory.

This study evaluated the pre-feasibility for implementing a sustainable hydroponic cultivation project at Finca Los Guaduales, San Vicente Ferrer, Antioquia. Using UNIDO methodology complemented with PMI for risk analysis, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted covering sectoral, market, technical, administrative-legal, environmental, economic-financial, and risk aspects. The sectoral analysis revealed a favorable environment with pro-sustainable agriculture government policies. The market study identified high receptivity (93.3%) in haute cuisine gastronomic establishments, with willingness to pay premium prices (80%). Technically, the NFT system was selected as optimal, with an installed capacity of 268,320 units annually. The financial evaluation demonstrated solid viability with NPV of $120,192,032 COP, IRR of 45%, and payback period of 3.47 years. The environmental analysis evidenced significant advantages versus traditional agriculture, including 70-90% water savings. Risk management identified 18 events, with contractual dependency being the main risk. The results confirm the integral pre-feasibility of the project, positioning it as a replicable model of sustainable agriculture in Colombian rural contexts.

Rural productive businesses in Colombia are organizations with extensive contributions to society that are evidenced in changes related to economic development, job creation, wellbeing for the poorest population, conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity, among others. There is rarely a measurement that provides quantitative information on these contributions, for this reason the present thesis takes up and applies some measurement principles of the methodology of social return on investment -SROI- adapted to a document or tool that is easily applicable by of entrepreneurs or rural productive businesses, which serves as a self-management resource and a first step to incorporate impact measurement into their business model. The exercise takes as its target population the ventures or companies linked in the implementation stage of the En-Campo program, led by Fundación Grupo Bancolombia, because these are organizations that have been strengthened and accompanied for management based on the positive impact on society. An identification process of contributions or benefits was carried out based on research and dialogue with rural companies; a prioritization based on its relevance and affinity with the target organizations; a quantitative estimate of benefits and adaptation to an easily applicable resource. Although the results that the tool or resource will produce are not the precise calculation of the social return on investment, they do generate valuable information regarding the aspects of greatest social contribution and management opportunities.

(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Polo Riva, Marciana Paola; Puerta Álvarez, Henry Daniel
Latin America and the Caribbean have progressively presented satisfactory effects in the development of the economy, however, in aspects such as equality, speaking of poverty, purchasing power among other particularities, allow arguing if in reality the conditions improve for the entire population in general, certain authors argue that Latin America and the Caribbean concentrates a high level of financial ignorance, This inhibits the general population from accessing financial products and services in an efficient way (correct administration of resources), and in an effective way (perpetuating the best results), so that the Campo Emprende program seeks to make certain groups financially literate in order to develop their knowledge and conception of finance; this research work intends to evaluate the influence of the program on the entrepreneurial skills of the population of Medio Bajo Atrato, the methodology to be used comprises descriptive contexts and a t-test for related subjects; The results have been totally gratifying, demonstrating in each of the questions that financial literacy has proportionally increased knowledge, the t-tests ratify the above mentioned, with a significance level of 0.000, that is, a 99.99% confidence level, it is concluded that there is a significant difference between the initial test and the post-test, the P8 format of financial knowledge demonstrated that the training improved knowledge by 37.70%, the P9 format self-perception of financial competences converges in a benefit of 21.17%.

Two global challenges are currently compromising the survival of humanity on Earth: the ecosystem crisis and the crisis of rurality, evidenced, on the one hand, in the crossing of planetary boundaries (loss of biodiversity, climate change and soil desertification, among others) and on the other, in the alarming indicators of food insecurity, migration from the countryside to the city and rural population with unsatisfied basic needs. Under this scenario, “Territory in Syntropy” arises with the purpose of designing a management model to promote the transition of small agricultural producers towards a Regenerative Rural Economy (RRE), understood as the application of the patterns and principles of nature in the construction of rural economies capable of contributing simultaneously to the health of ecosystems and rural communities through both agricultural and non-agricultural activities. We choose Tamesis (Antioquia) as a case study, as it is a strategic territory, which in addition to reflecting at the local level the challenges and opportunities that are observed in rural development from the global, national and regional levels, has been positioning as epicenter of a regenerative movement based on different initiatives with a multi-stakeholder perspective promoted by grassroots organizations, the public sector, the private sector and academia.
