Ítem Una aplicación de un modelo neoclásico DSGE con política fiscal.(2012-10-01) Botero García, Jesús; Franco González, Humberto; Hurtado Rendón, Álvaro Arturo; Mesa, ManuelWe use a Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) model to evaluate the effect of supply (productivity) and demand (foreign trade) shocks on the economy. In addition, this paper analyzes the impact of policies, specifically the effect of public spending under given economic environments. Our results show that, in an open economy model, an expansionary policy of public spending increases employment and production in the short run, but carries an additional future cost, which appears to be greater than the short term benefit.Ítem General equilibrium effects of exogenous misallocation shocks : an application to Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Gallo Montaño, Daniela Gallo; Botero García, Jesús Alonso; Botero García, Jesús AlonsoÍtem Informality and formality: Fiscal policy in DSGE model(Universidad EAFIT, 2014-03-11) Botero, Jesús; Vargas, Christian; Hurtado Rendón, Álvaro Arturo; Franco, HumbertoWe develop a DSGE model of the Colombian economy to assess the effect of tax policy on informal employment and income distribution. The model recreates a small open economy, with persistent income inequality, a substantial degree of informality, and different possibilities of government intervention. This paper evaluates the consequences of government transfer payments to households with lower incomes. We find that although transfer payments have a positive effect on income distribution, financing them requires an adjustment in government finances (cut spending or increase revenue through the use of various taxes), have negative effects on the economic as a whole.Ítem Modelos de equilibrio general dinámicos y estocásticos para Colombia 1995 – 2011(Universidad EAFIT, 28/10/2011) Rodríguez Revilla, Ramiro; Fundación Universitaria Los LibertadoresÍtem Multiplicador del gasto público productivo en Colombia : un análisis a partir de las metodologías S-VAR y modelos de equilibrio general dinámicos(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Hurtado Rivera, Isaac; Torres García, AlejandroUsing a SVAR and dynamic general equilibrium model, it is calculated the impact of the productive public spending in GDP, consumption, employment and private investment in Colombia. The results obtained from both methodologies suggest that the public investment multiplier is smaller than unity, as predicts neoclassical theory, but differs in magnitude due to the different assumptions on theorical model and structural characteristics of Colombian economy.
