Caso de estudio : Núcleo Veredal El Tres, Distrito Portuario de Turbo, Departamento de Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Moreno Velasco, Viviana; Mampaso Cerrillos, Cristina; Gaviria Ríos, Carlos León; Mejía Rivera, OscarThis thesis seeks to identify and define strategic actions that help to turn water a important way to resolve conflicts and convert it into an indispensable tool for building peace in the region of Urabá Antioqueño. It is based on the premise that there can be no peace in any territory if the population does not have access to drinking water, if the aquifers are contaminated or if their use is limited by the territorial control of agents other than state institutions and the communities that inhabit them. And this is the reason why, after the signing of the Havana Peace Accords in 2016, water is highlighted as a structuring and articulating element of the projects identified by the communities to guarantee peace in the territory. But, what does it mean to live in peace? This work establishes a second premise: peace construction cannot be separated from territorial planning and management. Living in peace means guaranteeing living conditions that provide health and hospital resources, economic opportunities, food security and a physical environment free of threats. With this approach, the different instruments, plans and projects for which water is an essential element for the development of the region are considered, and emphasis is placed on the initiatives prioritized in Planes de Desarrollo con Enfoque Territorial (PDET), taking as a case study El Tres, Turbo - Antioquia. This document is composed of four chapters that build a knowledge route around water. The first chapter analyzes the role of water as a tool for the implementation of the Peace Agreements, in the framework of the creation of the PDETs. The second chapter delves into the geographical and historical characterization of the study area and details the different management and planning instruments in order to develop a methodological roadmap to address the multiplicity of actions and intentions that converge in the same territory. The third chapter is a synthesis of the different components that make up the network of strategies for water management, from the environmental, social and institutional perspectives. Finally, the fourth chapter examines six enabling projects of small and large scale framed in six strategic lines. This journey takes us to a new beginning where water becomes the enabling element of the different initiatives and projects prioritized by the communities within the framework of the Peace Agreements and the articulating element of the different instruments operating in the territory. The work seeks, among other things, to show that such an essential element as water is not only a resource, but the key to the development of those communities seeking to build a stable and lasting peace.Ítem Las alianzas público privadas como una alternativa para el desarrollo sostenible de las regiones(Universidad EAFIT, 2017) Escobar Orrego, Liliana; Díaz Díez, Cristian AndrésPrivate public alliances are based on a contractual relationship that is distant from the Common State contracting, this one corresponds to generating private investment funds that are responsible for the transfer of responsibilities, as well as for the transfer of risk, which is one of the essential characteristics and differentiating from the public private alliance contract, since this contractual modality induces the private investor to assume the risks derived from the design, construction and possible delays arising from the execution or complexity to carry out the works or the rendering of the service agreed -- To meet this essential characteristic, the private sector needs to develop a sound financial structure for the project, which ensures the long-term stability of the contract. Within the PPPs, it is essential to analyze the relationship between risk and profitability, prior to the start of the project, in a reasonable and efficient manner -- This prior analysis, in turn, involves developing, by governments, adequate risk mitigation mechanisms, greater transparency and better design of transactions, because with these previous measures, renegotiations between the parties in the execution of the projects -- It is also important to take into account that not only infrastructure adequacy for the region can be left in the hands of private investment, it is the duty of each State to set investment objectives and to realize, with its own resources, those that do not generate higher costs, the financial point of view, as political The way in which public-private alliances are formed, the exchange of information, as well as the consensus reached with the different communities, are what guarantee the success of the alliance, the interaction with the private sector for the cases that are indicated is very broad and their representatives play a primary role in the development of projectsÍtem Alternativas de acción climática adaptadas al contexto del país para las empresas de Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Soler Arango, Mateo; Betancur Cadavid, Natalia; Jaramillo, MartínThis document conducts an analysis of climate change at the global level, identifying the main actions being taken to combat it. It examines some of the major policies and international agreements, highlighting a predominant focus on mitigation strategies over adaptation strategies. Subsequently, it emphasizes the context of Latin America and specifically Colombia, a country with low contributions to global GHG emissions but highly vulnerable to climate change, and proposes management alternatives for companies.Ítem Análisis de la adopción de mecanismos de pago por resultados y la financiación a través de bonos de impacto social en Heartland Alliance International, en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Luna García, Marco Andrés; López Álvarez, Didier Alberto; Gallardo Morcillo, Gloria Patricia; Vergara Garavito, Judith CeciliaÍtem Análisis de la cogestión de la Reserva Comunal ASHÁNINKA(Universidad EAFIT, 2016) Villalobos López, Guadalupe; Cáceres Rojas, Lourdes Elbia; Chiri Vargas, Gabriela LucíaLas Reservas Comunales en Perú, son una estrategia de conservación de la biodiversidad implementada por el Estado, diferenciadas por su administración bajo el modelo de cogestión, donde el Estado y la población usuaria, representada por el Ejecutor de Contrato de Administración, asumen roles y funciones que los hacen corresponsables de la conservación del área establecida como reserva comunal -- En la presente investigación se realizó un análisis de la implementación la cogestión en la Reserva Comunal Asháninka, para ello se ha recopilado opiniones de representantes del consejo directivo del ECOASHÁNINKA, líderes de las comunidades Asháninkas, personal que labora en la Reserva Comunal Asháninka y la interacción con la población de la Comunidad Nativa de Quempiri -- En resumen, el territorio de la Reserva Comunal es valorado como un espacio natural de conexión ancestral y como un área que les garantiza la sustentabilidad de la población Asháninka, por tal se sienten responsables de su conservación -- La posición del Estado es diversa, se ha encontrado confusión y oposición en cuanto a quienes son o quienes deberían ser los beneficiarios y a las formas de aprovechamiento de los recursos naturales -- Los involucrados coinciden en que el enfoque de cogestión para la Reserva Comunal es buena, sin embargo su implementación no es la mejor, no es congruente con las expectativas de la población para la satisfacción de necesidades y mejora de la calidad de vida, aunado a la existencia de empresas extractivas y actividades relacionadas al narcotráfico; “mejores beneficios” a corto plazo, con aceptación voluntaria o forzada -- Los responsables de la cogestión coinciden en que a pesar de las limitaciones económicas para implementar diversas iniciativas cumplen sus roles en la medida de sus posibilidades, ya que la interrelación y empatía entre ambos es un aspecto positivo que une esfuerzos, hace llevadera la interacción y cataliza problemas -- En conclusión, el modelo de cogestión para reservas comuna les es una iniciativa que requiere mayor atención de parte del Gobierno con políticas públicas, mejores recursos económicos e implica la generación de condiciones apropiadas para que el ECOASHÁNINKA y la población involucrada asuman su responsabilidadÍtem Análisis de la contribución de las empresas mineras con operación en Colombia a la biodiversidad(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Giraldo Posada, Ana Margarita; Correa Carmona, María Nathalia; Orjuela Hidalgo, Ana María; Ramírez Soto, Juan DavidThe legal mining sector in Colombia has both direct and indirect impacts on the areas where it operates. Mining companies have developed and implemented various programs focused on biodiversity conservation and preservation; however, these initiatives have not been effectively communicated to stakeholders, limiting recognition of their positive environmental impacts and contributions to ecosystems. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the contribution of mining companies operating in Colombia to biodiversity. To achieve this, a review of the sustainability reports of 11 mining companies operating in Colombia, published over a five-year period (2019–2023), was conducted. This review incorporated international biodiversity standards and the TSM Sustainable Mining Standard adapted for Colombia. Based on the findings, a methodological tool was designed and applied to five companies in the sample. It was then presented through interviews with environmental authorities and industry experts to gather their perspectives on its relevance. The results of this study reveal that mining companies in Colombia undertake actions that not only align with the targets of SDG 15 but also contribute to other SDGs. However, despite their positive impact on biodiversity, these efforts are not adequately visible or communicated. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that biodiversity-related actions are disclosed to all stakeholders through accessible channels, such as management and sustainability reports, so that the sector's efforts and contributions are properly recognized.Publicación Análisis de la gestión de riesgos estratégicos para la sostenibilidad en el sector logístico de Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Ruiz Acevedo, Valentina; Rodríguez Salamanca, Cristian David; Rodríguez Serrano, Oscar Fernando; Guerrero Latorre, Jorge HarleyÍtem Análisis de la incidencia de actores en el proceso de diseño de la Política Distrital de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación para la sostenibilidad del Distrito de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Guerrero Rosero, Tatiana; Leyva Botero, SantiagoÍtem Análisis de la vinculación al esquema de pagos por servicios ambientales -PSA-de PYMES en el Oriente antioqueño, como modelo gerencial para la sostenibilidad(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) García Urrea, Jaime Andrés; González Valencia, AlejandroThis research analyzes the connection between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) scheme to promote actions that reduce the impact of human activities. Through the voluntary compensation provided by these companies, the establishment of links with farming communities has been facilitated, where forest conservation is regarded as a cultural activity that also generates income and improves the living conditions of those who protect these ecosystems, which are crucial for regulating water quality and supply. Local management models are identified that contribute to the consolidation and sustainability of payments to the communities that protect these essential resources, while simultaneously preserving farming culture and its practices for forest protection and ecosystem conservation. In this context, the involved companies have implemented an organizational management model that incorporates styles and characteristics aimed at promoting equity toward rural communities as a mechanism of sustainability, integrating it within management practices focused on improving both environmental conditions and the quality of life for farming families who depend on forests and productive systems. This model, driven by SMEs, has enabled the implementation of PES in the areas influenced by their projects by analyzing various environmental, social, and economic structures as a strategy for sustainability and a planning tool, adding significant value to their products, broadening the spectrum of profitability, and benefiting the products and services that these organizations provide.Ítem Análisis de prefactibilidad para la implementación de una planta de residuos sólidos(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Builes Taborda, María Isabel; Montaño Largo, Paola Andrea; Guerrero Latorre, Jorge HarleyThe municipality of Corinto, Cauca, faces significant challenges in the management of its solid waste, with approximately thirty-one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two inhabitants and a considerable monthly production of urban waste. This waste is deposited in an open dump, which causes environmental damage to the soil, air, and water. Although in the rural area there is some use of organic waste, the lack of environmental awareness and the lack of adequate education contribute to the contamination problem. This degree work focuses on conducting a pre-feasibility analysis for the implementation of a solid waste plant in Corinto, Cauca, with the objective of developing sustainable practices that contribute to the proper management of waste and to the strengthening of environmental conservation in the region. A mixed research methodology will be used, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluate the feasibility of the project. The methodology is adapted to the preinvestment phase and considers technical, regulatory, environmental, and economic aspects of solid waste management. It began with an environmental analysis, followed by a technical study that provided information on project requirements. Legal aspects were also evaluated, as well as possible environmental impacts, proposing measures to mitigate them. Finally, a financial analysis was carried out to evaluate the profitability of the project, using indicators such as the Net Present Value and the Internal Rate of Return. This work seeks to offer an integral solution for solid waste management in Corinto, Cauca, that promotes environmental sustainability and contributes to the integral development of the territory.Ítem Análisis de prefactibilidad para la implementación de una planta de residuos sólidos(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Builes Taborda, María Isabel; Montaño Largo, Paola Andrea; Guerrero Latorre, Jorge HarleyThe municipality of Corinto, Cauca, faces significant challenges in the management of its solid waste, with approximately thirty-one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two inhabitants and a considerable monthly production of urban waste. Traditionally, the analysis of these projects has focused on the contrast between socio-environmental costs and benefits, serving as a tool for decision-making related to their financial viability and socio-environmental performance. Recently, the projection of a theory of change and the estimation of the Social Return on Investment have gained relevance as tools for designing projects aimed at creating social and environmental value in the territories where interventions will take place. In this research, we employ the theory of change and estimate the social return on investment applied to the Renewable Energy Feasibility Project of the Río Ambeima (Tolima, Colombia), whose analysis will be useful in later stages for informed decision-making, periodic monitoring of social value indicators, and continuous improvement in community management processes and socioenvironmental investment. The methodology allowed us to identify four major needs and/or problems to be resolved along with their respective expected outcomes. Considering that this is a prospective model, the SROI analysis was conducted individually and differentiated for the two main stages of the project, covering a total time horizon of fourteen years. Through the determination of five indicators and seven proxies for the valuation of the 4 expected outcomes, the SROI analysis revealed that for every monetary unit invested in the project, two units of social and economic value are generated, demonstrating a significant improvement in the expected change variables.Ítem Aplicación de la herramienta código país para la identificación de mejores prácticas corporativas en la empresa Construyendo Logística Empresarial SAS(Universidad Eafit, 2020) Londoño Baracaldo, César Augusto; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Montoya Jaramillo, Ángela MaríaÍtem Aproximación normativa al concepto de gestión ambiental urbana y su aplicación en los tres planes de ordenamiento territorial del municipio de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2015) Vargas Trejos, Daniela; Rueda Dávila, Luz Marina; Zapata Chavarría, CristianÍtem Área de gestión social en la empresa Cortés Leiva Asociados S.A.S(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Cortés Ortiz, María Fernanda; Vargas Sáenz, Mario Enrique
