Nowadays, there are not many studies that show the changes that people with this type of disease experience in their bodies. Method: To analyze the phenomenon, five unstructured interviews were conducted with people diagnosed with gastric autoimmune diseases from a clinic in Medellin city. The data was analyzed using the phenomenological-hermeneutic method, which allowed an in-depth exploration of the patients bodily experiences and an analysis through the interpretation of their meanings. Results: Three categories and six subcategories of analysis were identified, which were integrated using a qualitative framework. Based on this and the theory used for its construction, a proposal was presented on how people with autoimmune diseases experience their body during the course of the disease. Conclusión: A deep insight was given into the body experiences of the five patients at the time of diagnosis, adaptation, and acceptance of the illness. Changes in patients' body experiences before and after the diagnosis of an autoimmune disease were compared, and finally, a qualitative scheme was proposed as a useful tool that served to understand the complexity of body experiences. As a limitation, it is noted that autoimmune diseases can affect different organs, so there is heterogeneity in the diseases, and therefore people may describe their symptoms in different ways or have different levels of awareness of their bodily experiences, making it difficult to establish a unified approach.Ítem La humillación como una forma socialmente tolerada del mal moral(Universidad EAFIT, 2018-08-30) Molina, Liliana; Universidad de AntioquiaÍtem ¿Qué humanismo para qué sociedad?(Medellín : Universidad EAFIT, 2022-11-03) Universidad EAFIT; Restrepo Montoya, Claudia Patricia; Puentes, Édgar; Universidad EAFITÍtem La representación social del cuerpo según la edad y el género(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Villada Díez, Viviana; Orejuela Gómez, Johnny JavierObjective: Identify the social representation of the body according to the age and gender of a group of people from the city of Medellín. Methods: Qualitative research with a descriptive approach and a cross-section. A case study based on semi-structured interviews to 8 people, men and women, with ages between 18 and 64 years old, of Colombian nationality who have lived all or most of their lives in the city of Medellín. Results: The data obtained allowed to identify that the subjects, independently of their age and gender, have knowledge about a repertoire of common topics that have gained great relevance in the last decades where the cult of the body has been promoted. It was also possible to see how this information about the body has repercussions and is reflected in the field of representation that is built around it; therefore, the subjects not only describe the body as a set of elements that are connected to each other but also emphasize the importance of its care and give greater relevance to its functionality and healthy state than to its aesthetic character. In the same way, the information and the field of representation that the subjects have over the body influence their attitudes towards it, where it is not only reflected in the habits that they adopt in relation to it, but also in the judgments that are emitted over the body of others. Conclusion: Although the subjects have common elements in the three dimensions that compose the social representation, they also appear in these differences according to their age and gender. These variations are linked to topics that may be more relevant for one age range than for another, or for one gender than for another. As a result, the variations tend to be more in relation to the additional topics they mention than to opposite positions on the same topic.Ítem La superficie de los cuerpos deshumanizados ante los problemas de la narración en 2666 de Roberto Bolaño : la epifanía formal del vacío interesante(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Kuge, Tokio; Giraldo Quintero, Efrén AlexanderThis article analyzes the internal dialogues about the problems of narrating feminicides in 2666 by Roberto Bolaño. The novel problematizes the function of superficiality imposed upon bodies not only of the victims but also of the murderers. This function promotes the banalization of the violence and the elimination of discursive interventions in the violence. The internal dialogues show the possibility of the game within the logic of such function, which as a result incurs its ineffectiveness. This ineffectiveness leads to the provocation of interest, the communication of pain, a narrative position as the international borderline and the duplication of sin. 2666 shows the role of writing and the position of fiction through this article, in the face of the violence situated outside language.Ítem Theatrum Monstruosum: El lenguaje de lo difuso en el saber clínico colombiano de finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del XX(Universidad EAFIT, 2005-12-17) Cardona Rodas, Hilderman; Universidad EAFITÍtem La velocidad de los cuerpos: mercado, distopía y desecho en Los días de la peste, de Edmundo Paz Soldán(Universidad EAFIT, 2019-03-26) Montoya Juárez, Jesús; Universidad de Murcia
