Publicación Permanent deformation behavior in coarse granular soils under repeated loading in the Atlantic department(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Brochero Cortés, Jorge Luis; Vidal Valencia, JuliánThis article aims to analyze the behavior of results in coarse granular unbound soils (SGGNL) type subbase according to the Shakedown concept, the physical and dynamic tests to determine the response of this material by means of the triaxial test of repeated load for two types of materials of equal specification, but with different characteristics in their results, establishing the test conditions, especially in the volume for all the prepared samples to be the same, the stress states, the effect of saturation ranging from 50 to 100% and subjecting them to a limited number of 5000 cycles. The influence of these in relation to some physical characteristics, such as void ratio, granulometry. This type of response is analyzed under the Skakedown criteria, confirming that it is valid to evaluate the behavior that plays an important role in the operation of the pavement structure and thus know the real parameters of permanent deformation to which this type of materials can be subjected and prevent them from collapsing. The results of the behavior with different degrees of saturation cause an impact on the samples, because the permanent deformations increase directly proportional to this effect when subjected to cyclic loads, being classified on the range of line A or 1 (Plastic Shakedown), making it a material with a greater response without collapsing.
