    The structure of co-governance in private educational institutions can generate strategic risks that must be appropriately managed. This investigation addresses the following question: In what ways does the coexistence of two governing bodies in a single institution (co-governance) generate strategic risks in private schools? The analysis of the risks was conducted through interviews with school administrators from private educational institutions together with a review of documents from these institutions. The results allowed for the identification not only of those risks but also of possible mechanisms for their mitigation permitting the strengthening and fulfilment of strategy.
