    In the present work, a study with the aim of evaluating if a photovoltaic energy generation project in the city of Pereira met the requirements of the project finance model is carried out, and moreover, if it was the one adequate to finance the structure required, compared with a conventional financing method. As a methodology, a bibliographic review of the generation of photovoltaic energy, benefits of the project finance method and traditional financing treated with Ke was carried out. In turn, a data collection is carried out, a quantitative process is developed, and a conventional financial model and a model project finance are structured, to make a comparison between both methods. As a result, it’s concluded that the model traditional is the most efficient, derived from its best metrics, and that the project is viable if it is part of the one company and avails of the tax benefits.
