Ítem Actividad anti-leishmania in vitro de los extractos naturales obtenidos de Crescentia Cujete y Piper Aduncum(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Posada Bermúdez, Angélica; Robledo Restrepo, Sara MaríaThe present study aimed to measure in vitro anti-Leishmania activity of leaf extract in water, leaves plus stems in water and leaves in ethanol obtained from Crescentia cujete and Piper aduncum, to achieve this, cytotoxicity was calculated which for all extracts it was high (LC50: <100 μg/mL). The anti-Leishmania activity was also determined and even though values are in the high activity range (EC50: <25 μg/mL), by taking into account low results of selectivity index (SI), it is possible to affirm that it is due to cell death, hence of parasites, although their death is not because of extracts. In conclusion, extracts present more cytotoxicity than activity
