    Estudio de prefactibilidad para la creación de una franquicia de jugos naturales en la ciudad de Bogotá y sus municipios aledaños

    This document shows the conceptual basis for the creation of a natural juice franchise located in Bogotá, and surrounding municipalities (Chía, Cota, etc.), which was developed under the current conditions of the country and national market and in which trends, consumer habits, and relevant aspects from the Colombian economy and natural beverages sector from recent years, were taking into account. Market, technical, legal, and financial studies were carried out in order to determine the prefeasibility of the project and, once this information was collected it was analyzed and determined that the implementation of this business idea is viable under the current conditions of the country, for which three scenarios were determined as possible from a financial and commercial point of view: A pessimistic one, a feasible, and an optimistic one, from which it was concluded that in the last two (feasible and optimistic) the company should be sustainable in the long-term, financially speaking. Initial financing was raised with indebtedness in traditional banking in a four-year term; however, the possibility remains open for interested investors to disburse seed capital or, as a third and no less important alternative, submit the project to calls by the national Government in order to obtain public funds and be able to execute the project´s development.

    Financing growth is one of the main challenges today for entrepreneurs, since there are different debt and equity alternatives in the market for the different growth phases, but some of these are not affordable for the majority because companies are in early stages of business development -- The cash consumption demanded by growth must be predictable for the administrative team, which must define the optimum mix of debt and capital for each growth stage; this is not a standard and will depend on the type of industry and the development of the financial market in which it is -- The failure of business in its early stages is explained because they are unable to define their optimal debt / equity structure, where some may be constrained by market alternatives, while others are limited by the lack of financial knowledge in their executive team -- Therefore, this study aims to present the different alternatives offered by the financial system and its link with the different stages of growth, to provide a practical guide that allows entrepreneurs to project their growth, have a glossary of financial instruments for the different stages and their applicability

    El mercado de capital de riesgo informal en Antioquia: el caso de los Ángeles Inversionistas y la actividad emprendedora en Medellín

    Este artículo examina el mercado de capital de riesgo informal en Colombia y profundiza su análisis en el desarrollo de esta actividad en el departamento de Antioquia, más específicamente en la ciudad de Medellín -- Se realizó un trabajo de tipo exploratorio con una parte teórica que surge a partir de una rigurosa revisión de la literatura existente y otra empírica, tomada de información recogida en entrevistas a profundidad a importantes actores del ecosistema emprendedor de la región y con información secundaria obtenida a partir de la encuesta anual de populación adulta del Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) -- Entre los principales hallazgos, se destacan la brecha de financiación existente para los emprendimientos en etapas tempranas, la falta de cultura de capital de riesgo informal y las políticas públicas nacientes para impulsar la inversión ángel en la región -- Finalmente, se evidencia los principales retos y desafíos de las redes de ángeles ya constituidas
