They are objectives because they can be pillars in the conservation of ecosystems and their biodiversity, can be monitored over time, and account for the fulfillment of the conservation objectives of a protected area. The new conservation figures based on areas and that are constituted from civil society also require the implementation of strategies and conservation plans focused on CV. Our attention is focused on Reserva La Rivera, located in the north of the department of Quindío and directly bordering the Otún Quimbaya Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, which is part of the buffer zone of Los Nevados National Natural Park. It is a private conservation project with 345 hectares distributed between forests in different stages of regeneration and grasslands, and is located in one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the world, the tropical Andes. For this study, biotic inventories of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians were carried out, taking into account historical records, collected specimens and field sampling in Reserva La Rivera; 308 species of birds, 30 of mammals, 13 of reptiles and 9 of amphibians were recorded and the conservation values were prioritized according to five criteria: heterogeneity, area of distribution, vulnerability, function and socioeconomic value. Five species were selected as VOC, represented by three birds, one mammal and one reptile. This diversity reflects the richness of the study area, its importance in the objectives of other protected areas and the connectivity in its buffer zones.Ítem SEMAI Particle Analyzer(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Restrepo Rivera, David; Quintero, Olga Lucía
