Diseño de procesos de planificación comercial para una compañía de la industria retail en el marco de BPM y BA
(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Betancur Del Río, Sergio Alejandro; Cardona Ramírez, Elvis Hedilberto
This research was focused on the feasibility study for the design of business processes in the retail industry, specifically two processes that involve handling large volumes of data for planningbusiness about the supply chain. From the Business Process Management (BPM) approach, a general diagnosis of the supply chain, where the main causes of economic losses were explained throughout the macro-process in function of operational factors and how these in turn are influenced by the quality, use and monitoring of the data of all processes. The set of information on suppliers, products, inventories, purchases and sales are managed through a system called Enterprise Resource Management (ERP). The fast expansion of the company, the re-implementation of this system and the lack of automation tools tasks generates that currently users of the administrative area consume an average of 25% of their time monthly in operational activities for business planning processes, specifically sourcingof products and creation of reports. From the Business Analytics (BA) approach, operations with data that are executed in these two processes and the alternatives for their automation were analyzed. For the sourcing process, which is predictive in nature, the implementation of a simulator that seeks to determine the parameters of inventory levels, codify them in the suggested order through the ERP, and thus calculate and create orders for supervised manner; This project implies an investment of $ 50'781,000 representing a reduction of 548 monthly hours of work valued at $ 6,246,000. For the report creation process, which is of descriptive, the implementation of the visualization system in Power BI that seeks to automate the generation of reports and visuals by extracting and transforming data directly from ERP, creation of visualizations and publication of reports to defined users; this project involves an investment of $ 22'380,000 representing a reduction of 600 hours of work per month valued at $ 9,120,000. This portfolio of solutions takes the company to a higher level of technological maturity.

Business processes are vital elements for organization management and to evaluate the organization by using KPI. Nevertheless, results measuring hardly finds events that can be detected from stored information in data warehouses, which is analyzed in different periods of time and can also be used to improve the process. In this paper a model that optimizes business processes is shown. This was achieved by studying other research works and carrying out iterations on a specific process, where BPM is integrated into mining processes and dimensional modelling. © 2017.
