Publicación Factibilidad del uso de soluciones premezcladas ante las barreras de acceso en salud en instituciones hospitalarias de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Rua Florez, Sebastian; Sanchez Restrepo, Sara; GUERRERO LATORRE, JORGE HARLEYThis study aims to evaluate the potential impact of certain healthcare barriers on the use of premixed intravenous acetaminophen and ibuprofen in hospital settings among healthcare provider institutions in Medellín, Antioquia. To achieve this, three specific objectives are defined: First, to identify the availability of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in premixed formulations that can be commercially distributed under institutional sales in Colombia. Second, to characterize potential access barriers limiting their implementation in hospital-based healthcare institutions (IPS) in Medellín, considering regulatory, logistical, and clinical factors. Finally, to estimate the financial impact of adopting these solutions on the pharmaceutical industry, analyzing changes in sales and associated profitability. For this purpose, the projected sales of acetaminophen and ibuprofen will be modeled in the @RISK software to estimate, across multiple scenarios, the impact on financial results. Under this framework, the study seeks to provide relevant insights for decision-making in both healthcare institutions and the pharmaceutical industry, contributing to a better understanding of the factors influencing the access and use of premixed intravenous medications in hospital settings
