    The assisted reproduction treatments have been increasing notably in recent years, and consequently the use of sperm donors. Currently in Colombia the sperm donor profile offer is very low and usually patients have to use international sperm banks to supply their needs. These are the reasons to evaluate the market, the legal terms, the technical features, financial aspects and associated risks to the creation and operation of a donor sperm bank in Colombia according to the ONUDI methodology. Each of these aspects were consulted with primary and secondary sources, and the following conclusion was reached: a donor sperm bank is not viable if operates independently of a fertility center, it must be financially supported by its viability.
