Publicación Diseño de un proceso de entrenamiento estructurado para empleados de la empresa Salutem Medical Management(Universidad EAFIT, 2025-02-11) Ibica Ovejero, Jilber Arley; Nuñez Celis, Paulo Cesar; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; García Medina, Juan DavidThis study analyzes the limitations present in the employee training process at Salutem Medical Management and their impact on the administrative management associated with Dr. Dennis Robison’s procedures. The absence of standardized training has led to frequent errors, rework, and variability in the execution of critical tasks such as authorizations, verifications, coding, and billing, affecting operational efficiency, service quality, and customer experience. The central purpose of the research was to design an effective training process, aligned with staff roles and client expectations, that contributes to improving accuracy in medical management. The methodology adopted a qualitative approach and included the application of questionnaires with open-ended questions to the client and operational staff, semi-structured interviews with the management team, and a detailed analysis of team performance. These techniques made it possible to identify knowledge gaps, inconsistencies in information transfer, and critical areas within the operational workflow. Additionally, the medical management process was diagrammed using BPMN notation, which facilitated a comprehensive understanding of activities and system breakpoints. Based on the findings, a structured training proposal was developed, integrating technical content, practical activities, and support resources aimed at strengthening the competencies of administrative staff. The results confirm the need to implement a standardized training model that reduces errors, optimizes operational efficiency, and contributes to the administrative sustainability of medical practice.Publicación Propuesta de mejoramiento del proceso de facturación de servicios de salud en la Clínica de Ortopedia y Fracturas TRAUMEDICAL S.A.S.(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Villota Paz, Christian Alejandro; Velásquez Cuartas, Jhon Orlando; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis manuscript analyses the structuring of the health services billing process provided by the Orthopedics and Fractures Clinic TRAUMEDICAL S.A.S, considering that the company’s financial support, is dependent on its liquidity, and profitability, as well as the decision-making for the implementation of projects for their growth, provision of new health services, and advancement to another level of complexity within the Health System in Colombia. Initially, there is a diagnosis of the billing process, with its development and results. Then, applying the Business Process Management (BPM) analysis tool, as the methodology that allows the optimization of business processes, and through the contextualization of the main problems that influence the obtaining of a final product, that in this case is called a sales invoice, a redesign of the current billing process is proposed. This redesign contemplates changes in the execution of critical procedures that contribute to minimizing, especially, the financial risks that arise when the invoice has errors in its elaboration, generating objections represented in glosses or returns detected in the audit processes carried out by the ones responsible for the payment, be it the Health Services Provider Company (EPS) or insurance company, in cases of traffic accidents, occupational accidents in among others.
