Publicación Estado del arte de la auditoría en metodologías de gestión de proyectos(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Castaño Madrigal, Cristian Alexander; Guerrero Latorre, Jorge HarleyThis study presents an analysis of the state of the art of auditing in project management methodologies, identifying how these practices have evolved and been integrated into different methodological frameworks. Through a literature review, methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, PM², Waterfall, ISO 21500, Scrum, and P2M were examined to assess the role of auditing in each of them. Additionally, research from various authors who have explored the application of auditing in projects was reviewed. The findings indicate that while some methodologies include explicit guidelines on auditing and quality assurance, others face challenges in their implementation due to their agile and flexible approach. Furthermore, several obstacles to the adoption of audits in project management were identified, including resistance to change, differing perceptions of the auditing role in projects, the lack of unified standards for its application, and the need to adapt audit processes to dynamic environments. Nevertheless, the study highlights that auditing has become a fundamental element for achieving efficiencies and meeting strategic project objectives, playing a key role in organizational learning, risk management, and performance optimization. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen its implementation in each phase of the project management methodology lifecycle.
