    Concierto para congas solistas y orquesta sinfónica del compositor Carlos Medina : una propuesta interpretativa

    From the musical analysis of the First Movement of the Concerto for Congas Soloists and Symphony Orchestra by composer Carlos Medina, this work presents a proposal for notation, interpretation, and execution for a multi-percussion work. The literature review includes a revision of congas' historical context and conceptual descriptions of multi-percussion, musical notation, and extended techniques. From this study, a discussion on the importance of incorporating popular music elements in the field of academic music is generated. This result nurtures a deeper understanding of musicians' identity who live and perform in Latin American contexts.
