    The purpose of this article is to examine the perspectives of three Colombian conductors about their daily basis work, the importance of the repertoire, and the process of adapting rehearsal methodologies during the period of confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Through interviews, participants reported their experiences. An inductive approach was used to analyze the data and four themes emerged as result of the analysis: the role of the conductor: towards the humanization of practice, verbal and non-verbal language as a means of communication in orchestra conducting, motivation as a cornerstone of ensemble practice, and the repertoire as a tool for the development of musical skills. Based on these themes, we reflect on the importance of the director as a guide of a musical group, and the learnings that resulted from the confinement of 2020.
