Ítem Caracterización de las víctimas por hurto en Colombia : aplicación de la teoría de la actividad rutinaria(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Gil Correa, Santiago; Vélez Foliaco, Victoria; Gómez Toro, CatalinaThis research develops an analysis of the characteristics of victims of theft in Colombia, based on the theory of routine activities formulated by Cohen and Felson in 1979. Use is made of the Citizen Security and Coexistence survey for 2016, conducted by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), to identify the social and economic characteristics of the victims, and variables that characterize the neighborhood of residence of those surveyed are also taken from this database. The results obtained showed that, on average, Colombians have a 16% probability of being a victim for theft, in addition to significant coefficients for most variables that measure the theory of routine activities such as the socioeconomic stratum, workday, presence of illegal groups or crimes in the neighborhood.
